PRACTICAL INFORMATION
SU – THE DANISH STUDENTS' GRANTS AND LOANS SCHEME
When you turn 18, you might be eligible for the student grants. Until you are 20 years old, your grant depends on your parents’ income. You can see the current SU rates at the www.su.dk site. If you are not a Danish citizen, you must fulfil specific conditions in order to be granted equal status with Danish citizens and receive SU.
Applications takes place online at www.su.dk, and you can apply up to a month before your 18th birthday. You will be eligible for SU in the quarter in which you turn 18; January 1st, April 1st, July 1st or October 1st. For example, if you are eligible for SU for October 1st, you will be able to apply online from September 1st.
In order to apply online, you will need a digital signature called ‘NemID’. You can apply for a NemID through the www.su.dk site. It takes approximately 10 days to receive your NemID. Furthermore, please note that it normally takes 2-4 weeks for your SU application to be processed.

DO YOU NEED HELP WITH YOUR HOMEWORK?
Why hurry home after school, when you can stay here and do your homework? You can get help with assignments and homework in EG’s Study Café every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Study Café opens in week 39.
COMPUTERS
We use computers in almost all classes, and we expect you to bring one to school. It does not matter if it is a Windows PC or an Apple computer, but the operating system needs to be Mac OSX or Windows. We do not recommend a ChromeBook or other browser-based operating system computers, as our software is not compatible. It is not possible to borrow computers from the school.
THE CANTEEN
Pia and her crew are in charge of the canteen at EG. Everyday they offer a variety of sandwiches, pastries, cakes, and a hot meal during lunch break. They also have a salad bar that is open during lunch break.
LECTIO
Lectio is the school's web-based communication system.
During the school year, all information is passed on to students through Lectio. It includes general information from the IB coordinator and others, grades, absences, teaching materials and messages from teachers and students.
You will get your login details when you start school.
SPECIAL NEEDS
If you suffer from a learning disability or have other types of special needs, it’s important that you reach out to our IB-counsellor as soon as possible to set up special accommodation. You can write to the IB-counsellor, Bodil Aase Frandsen Schmidt, on Lectio.
CONTACT WITH YOUR PARENTS
Our contact with your parents is much less than what you might be used to from secondary school. It is your responsibility to inform your parents about what is going on at school, about your grades and your absence (and everything in between). However, we will contact your parents in case of serious disciplinary matters.
DIGITAL POST
We send all letters to you and your parents as Digital Post. You can read more about digital post here: https://lifeindenmark.borger.dk/apps-and-digital-services/Digital-Post
LOCKERS
You can rent a locker through the administration staff. You deposit 100 kr, which you will get back when you graduate or no longer wish to rent the locker.
STUDENT ID
All students at EG have a student ID card. You will need the ID card to get into EG’s student parties. If you do not bring your ID to a party, you will not get in.
TICKETS FOR THE INTRO-PARTY - HOW YOU PAY
A ticket for the Intro Party costs 75 kr and includes a welcome drink and dinner. You have to pay for your ticket with MobilePay 264017.
