SU & Ungdomskort

SU – The Danish students’ Grants and Loans Scheme.

When you turn 18, you might be eligible for the student grants. Until you are 20 years old, your grant depends on your parents’ income. You can see the current SU rates at the site. If you are not a Danish citizen, you must fulfil specific conditions in order to be granted equal status with Danish citizens and receive SU.

Applications takes place online at, and you can apply up to a month before your 18th birthday. You will be eligible for SU in the quarter in which you turn 18; January 1st, April 1st, July 1st or October 1st.  For example, if you are eligible for SU for October 1st, you will be able to apply online from September 1st.

In order to apply online, you will need a digital signature called ‘NemID’. You can apply for a NemID through the site. It takes approximately 10 days to receive your NemID. Furthermore, please note that it normally takes 2-4 weeks for your SU application to be processed.

Ungdomskort offers a public transportation discount for all students aged 16-19, who attend EG. You apply through the website below using your Danish CPR number and NemID.

Do you need help with your homework?

Why hurry home after school, when you can stay here and do your homework? You can get help with assignments and homework in EG’s Homework Café every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Homework Café opens in week 39.

The canteen

Pia and her crew from Jespers Torvekøkken are in charge of the canteen at EG. Everyday they offer a variety of sandwiches, pastries, cakes, and a hot meal during lunch break. They also have a salad bar that is open during lunch break. The method of payment is credit- or debit card and MobilePay.

Lectio is the school's web-based communication system. Lectio can be reached with very limited access without log-in. To gain full access you need to log in.

During the school year, all information is passed on to students through Lectio. It includes general information from the IB coordinator and others, grades, absences, teaching materials and messages from teachers and students.

You will get your login details when you start school.

IT and Wifi

There is Wifi everywhere at EG. You will get a login to the network on your first day of school. We do not recommend buying a Chromebook as your school computer, as it is not compatible with the schools Microsoft Office package or with the software used in the mathematics classes.

Special needs

If you suffer from a learning disability or have other types of special needs, it’s important that you reach out to our IB-counsellor as soon as possible to set up special accommodation. You can write to the IB-counsellor, Bodil Aase Frandsen Schmidt, on lectio.

Contact to your parents

Our contact with your parents is much less than what you might be used to from secondary school. It is your responsibility to inform your parents about what is going on at school, about your grades and your absence (and everything in between).  However,  we will contact your parents in case of serious disciplinary matters.

Digital Post

We send all letters to you and your parents as Digital Post in E-Boks. Please make sure that your E-boks is activated or you might miss important information. You can read more about digital post and E-boks here:

You can rent a locker through the administration staff. You deposit 100 kr, which you will get back when you graduate or no longer wish to rent the locker.

Student ID

All students at EG have a student ID card. You will need the ID card to get into EG’s student parties. If you do not bring your ID to a party, you will not get in.

Ticket to the Intro Party – how you pay

A ticket for the Intro Party costs 75 kr and includes a  welcome drink and dinner. You have to pay for your ticket on Thursday during “EG-hour”. Your home teacher will collect payment – either cash or MobilePay.

Portrait and class photos

A photographer will take a portrait photo of you for Lectio and your student ID. You will also get a class photo and a “Flip class photo” (a silly version of the class photo) taken.
