FET

The FET is a team of students who work on fostering community among students across classes and years. You might have met some of our FET members already - they're the ones who take prospective students on tours and also showcase our school during Open House events. FET members are ready to welcome you and the other new students when you arrive at EG on your first day of school. If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, feel free to ask a FET member - they'll be happy to help you.

It is free to attend school, but...

During your time at Esbjerg Gymnasium, there are various expenses that you as a student will need to contribute towards. These include:

  • 2-day trip to Copenhagen

  • Introduction events

  • Software licenses such as Office 365

  • Digital dictionaries

  • Digital calculators

  • Various digital media, etc.

To make it as easy as possible, EG has a scheme where you pay 900 DKK when you start PreIB. This amount covers the student contribution for the three years you attend the school. Payment is made via Studiz, which you will gain access to when you start school in August. The deadline for payment for incoming 1st-year students is October 7th 2025 at 12.00. Please note that no payment can be made before 1st day of school, as access to Studiz is not possible until then. Click here to pay

Study trips and language trips are not covered by this student contribution, and the expenses for these trips must therefore be paid separately. The only trip covered in this contribution is the trip to Copenhagen.

Note: The amount is non-refundable upon withdrawal.

Computer and Calculator Requirements

Although all IB examinations are completed by hand, most of the assignments require students to work on a computer. IT is an integral part of daily teaching in both PreIB and IB programmes; therefore, students are required to bring a laptop to school. The operating system may be either Windows or macOS, but the device must be capable of running one of these systems. Additionally, the laptop must have sufficient hard disk space to accommodate the school's required software.

We strongly advise against purchasing Chromebooks, as they are incompatible with the school's Office 365 suite and the software used in mathematics instruction.

Esbjerg Gymnasium provides all students with a license for Office 365, which includes access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneNote. This license remains valid for the duration of the student’s enrollment at the school and will be made available during the week prior to the start of the academic year.

IB students are required to purchase a specific calculator model: the TI-Nspire CX II-T. This must be acquired no later than the beginning of IB1.  We recommend that you purchase the calculator as early as the PreIB year.

Please note that the school does not provide computers or calculators for loan.
